Several faculty within the Iowa State University (ISU)
Electric Power and Energy Systems (EPES) Group have open
Ph.D. Graduate Research Assistantships(GRA) to begin January, 2017.
There are presently 8 positions, but it is likely there will be more.
Preference will be given to high-performing individuals who
already have (or will have) a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
International applicants will be considered.
If interested, please send appropriate information to Professor
James McCalley at jdm@iastate.edu no later than September 15, 2016.
The information should indicate previous education, power system
engineering-related coursework and performance, research experience,
publication list, industry experience, and an expression of current research
interests. Also, please indicate whether or not formal application has been made
through the ISU Graduate Admission Process at
h ttps://w ww.admis sions.iastate.edu/graduate/in dex.php,
(It is not required to formally apply through the ISU Graduate Admission Process
before sending the above described information).
Students within the ISU EPES program perform their dissertation-related
research in concert with objectives related to externally-funded research
projects, interacting with industry engineers and researchers at
national laboratories and other universities, while taking coursework
towards their degree. ISU GRA positions are ideal springboards into
internships and permanent employment with industry; they are also
excellent preparation for eventual post-doctoral and faculty positions.
ISU has for many years maintained a large and very active power systems
engineering research group. |
